HiFi Klubben
Bandcontest

SOUNDBOKS
awareness campaign (2022)

The HiFi Klubben Bandcontest 2022 powered by SOUNDBOKS was the second installment of the incredibly successful band contest that produced the risings stars of the "Neue Neue Deutsche Welle" scene, TEMMIS, in 2021.
HiFi Klubben, the new partner SOUNDBOKS and us knew that we had to repeat such a phenomenon and raise it to a regularity.
The crew was gathered again: Yaenniver (fka Jennifer Weist / Jennifer Rostock), Nisse and Torben Hodan (DIFFUS Mag) provided the jury; Kay Petersen from Granny's House Studio in Hamburg was again to produce the EP of the winning band. One major feature was new: instead of producing a documentary, we decided this year to produce a super high-quality music video - to get the most out of it for the winning band.
Awareness and lead generation for HiFi Klubben are preceded by one thing: authenticity. Honestly and consistently giving the winning band the maximum. And this year we did it again with flying colours.

Once again, countless bands sent in their unreleased demos and faced our jury. After an intensive selection phase, three bands were able to prevail: Lummerland from Tübingen / Leipzig, JOSEH from Hamburg and Sector 5 from Berlin. In the public voting, which simultaneously represented the lead generation via HiFi Klubben Customer Club Signup, thousands of votes were generated, which ultimately gave Lummerland the victory. Voters could win several SOUNDBOKS speakers during the process to further incentivise the phase. Within one intensive week, the EP and the music video were produced in Hamburg and released in January with a promo phase.
In the meantime, we produced countless content pieces in still and moving images for the contest, in order to fill the social media channels, newsletters and landing pages. In cooperation with DIFFUS Mag, the contest and the release were accompanied by various articles and media formats.

In January, the music video and the EP of the same name dropped on all digital distribution platforms - with fanfare. This year we were once again able to achieve exactly what we set ourselves as a benchmark: To offer a newcomer band real added value without putting on a marketing masquerade. A phenomenally produced EP, the experience of recording with an experienced producer such as Kay Petersen in a state-of-the-art studio - and a high-end music video. The deep red, heavy vibe and the visual metaphors take up the content of "SCHWEIG" and raise it to a new level – paired with a subtle, yet striking SOUNDBOKS product placement.
With the independent release, we managed to secure Lummerland top features on the DIFFUS "Neue Neue Deutsche Welle" playlist, as well as the sought after Spotify "Fresh Finds GSA" playlist. The EP and video are performing as well as expected and managed to bring a real boost to Lummerland ambitions. Said. Done. We are looking forward to the next lucky winner.

The A-side "Schweig" is emblematic for the relentless, lyrical seriousness of Lummerland. Right from the start, a driving beat creates a driven and torn feeling that is mirrored in the lyrics. Schweig" is not a roller coaster ride - rather a five-minute free-fall tower that starts its way into the abyss surprisingly tentatively and then steadily builds until the bombastic intensity of a five-piece indie orchestra buries everything underneath.
"Nie Geliebt" - the B-side - on the other hand, is a picturesque song about two people living together with their sad unnecessities. Musically appropriately introduced with a spherical intro and the focus on lead singer Anton’s voice, which is quickly replaced by synth interludes and faster-paced rock riffs. High pressure. Abrupt jumps. Like in real life, we are flung from one side of the emotional spectrum to the other within seconds.
